Spangenberg: 143. Anthology of the most important intitutiones editions from the famous and very rare Haloander edition of 1529 through to Schrader’s critical edition in the 19th century! With the editions of the Justinian law books he had prepared from 1527 and published in Nuremberg between 1529 and 1531, G. Haloander (Meltzer), presumed date of birth 1501 in Zwickau Saxony, immediately made himself the focal point of all discussions, concerns and striving of the jurists of his age about the correct text and thus the correct law. His untimely death in Venice on 7 September 1531 brought to an abrupt end to his further plans.
